Team India remembers 26/11 victims

Indian cricketers today observed a two-minute silence to pay their respect to those killed in the Mumbai terror attacks in November last year.

The Indian cricketers, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, stood along the boundary line around 9.30 am at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur before the start of third day's play in the second Test against Sri Lanka, with heads bowed down in memory of those martyrs died in the terrorist attack.

Earlier in the morning, 50 orphan children marched into the stadium in candlelight procession in memory of 26/11 victims. Some of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association officials took part in the procession.

Every day, UPCA allows 50 orphan children to watch the Test match.

"Today being November 26, the children took out a procession in memory of those killed in the terror attack," UPCA media coordinator A A Khan Talib told PTI.
