Thanks to his accuracy and controlled aggression, Sri Lanka could not get going, recording their lowest ever total at Green Park, Kanpur.

Sreesanth has now produced two five-wicket hauls - 5 for 40 against South Africa at Johannesburg in December 2006 and 5 for 75 against Sri Lanka at Kanpur in November 2009.

Sreesanth's figures are now the best by an Indian speedster against Sri Lanka in India - the only other Indian fast-medium bowler to bag five wickets in an innings against Sri Lanka in India is Kapil Dev - 5 for 110 at Chennai in September 1982.

"Sreesanth a great guy to be around"

Sreesanth's figures are the best for India against Sri Lanka at Green Park, obliterating the 3 for 76 by B.Arun in December 1986.

Sreesanth has now captured 55 wickets in 15 Tests at 29.96 runs apiece.  His best performance in a calendar year has been in his debut year, capturing 35 wickets in seven Tests at an average of 24.37.

The highlight of Sreesanth's career has been his performance against South Africa in a three-Test series in South Africa in 2006-07, claiming 18 wickets at 21.94 runs apiece (his career-best in a series) with eight wickets in a Test match twice - at Johannesburg and Durban.  Thanks to his first five-wicket haul (5/40) at Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, South Africa were bundled out for 84, enabling India to register their first and only win in South Africa - by 123 runs.
