Younus may miss Australian tour

It is highly unlikely that Younus Khan could be selected for the Australian tour as he has not proved form by playing in the domestic circuit.

The selectors wanted him to play in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy since he had pulled out of the New Zealand tour because of poor form.

"He has neither contacted the Board or the selectors at all. So it is unlikely he will be going to Australia," a PCB source said.

"As it is, it will be very difficult for us to justify selecting him in the squad even if he now makes himself available for the tour since he dropped out of the New Zealand tour on basis of his poor batting form," a source close to the selectors said.

The source pointed out that Younus' best chance of making the squad was to play in the ninth round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy which he didn't do.

When Younus pulled out of the New Zealand tour, rumours were strong that he was forced to take this step because a group of senior players was not supporting him and making life difficult for him in the dressing room.
