Geeves in Aussie squad for third Test
Tasmanian fast bowler Brett Geeves will join the Australian squad for the third Test against the West Indies in Perth.
Geeves has been added as a stand by player and will be released on Wednesday for state duties should he not be required to take part in the match.
The National Selection Panel Chairman Andrew Hilditch said,"While the expectation is that Peter Siddle will be fit to take his place in the side, in order to ensure there is sufficient cover, a decision has been made to have Brett Geeves available as a standby player in Perth.
If you think Lionel Messi should be the Champion of Champions, Vote for him now!
"Brett gets his opportunity on the back of his recent strong performances in Weet-Bix Sheffield Shield cricket and because the NSP feel he will be well suited to the conditions at the WACA should an opportunity present itself."
Geeves will depart Hobart today and join the Australian squad in Perth this evening.
