Murali complains of pain in finger

Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan was today rushed to a hospital for medical examination after he complained of pain in his finger.

Muralitharan, who did not take part in the team's practice session this morning, was rushed to the Sterling Hospital where Dr Samrat Buddh conducted various medical tests including X-rays and CT scan of his finger, Medical Director of the hospital Dr Kamal Parikh said.

Parikh said the injury was not serious and the veteran spinner has been given pain relief injection.

Muralitharan's medical reports have been sent to the Sri Lankan team physio, Parikh added.

Muralitharan had missed the team's two Twenty20 Internationals against India following a bruised ligament injury on his fingers.
