ICC appoints Gibson as Head of Media

The ICC appointed journalist-turned-sports administrator Colin Gibson as its Head of Media and Communications.

Gibson, who will take up his position on February 1 next year, is currently the Head of Corporate Communications at the England and Wales Cricket Board.

He has previously worked as Director of Communications at the Football Association in England.

Gibson was previously a sports journalist having held the position of chief sports writer for 'The Daily Telegraph' in London before becoming sports editor of 'The Sunday Telegraph' and 'Daily Mail' in London.

Commenting on his appointment, Gibson said, "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the ECB. I am now looking forward to working with some extremely talented people at the ICC as we take on the exciting challenges that lie ahead."

Welcoming Gibson to the ICC, its Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat said, "The ICC is fortunate to attract an experienced Colin Gibson. I welcome him to the headquarters and look forward to his contributions for the benefit of world cricket.
