Pakistan's T20 captain Shahid Afridi is considering a return to Test cricket, which he had quit until the 2011 ODI World Cup.

He had quit Tests until the 2011 one-day World Cup to focus on the shorter formats of the game.

But Afridi on Wednesday said he could return to Test cricket if team needed him in future.

"I am available to serve the team in Test matches in national interest when and where required. For me serving my country is the biggest honour for me," he said.

Afridi was overlooked for the recent Test tours to New Zealand and Australia after he said he would not play the longer format until after the 2011 World Cup as he wanted to concentrate on one-day and Twenty20 cricket.

Afridi, who has been named vice-captain of the one-day team for the coming Australian tour, said he would make himself available for Test matches if needed. Afridi has not played a Test since 2006.

"I quit Test cricket but can reverse the decision if team needed me and selectors required my services," said the flamboyant player, who has 1683 runs in 26 Test matches at an average of 37.40.
