Afridi: Playing in Big-Bash will help
Shahid Afridi feels playing in Australia's domestic T20 tournament will help him prepare well for Pakistan's ODI series Down Under.
Flamboyant all-rounder will play for South Australia in the Big Bash tournament and will join the Pakistan team for the one-day series and one-off Twenty20 international after it's over.
"I am going to Australia with lot of confidence and high hopes of doing well for South Australia and my national team. I will try not to disappointed with my batting," Afridi told reporters at the airport before leaving for Australia.
"Going early to Australia for their domestic season would allow me to get much needed practice and exposure for the international matches," he added.

Afridi, Pakistan's T20 captain, had made a big impact in the last World Cup in England with his all-round show.
Afridi has not played any domestic cricket this season in Pakistan because of his father's illness and also skipped the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, won by Karachi Blues by a big margin of 141 runs against Afridi's Habib Bank team.
Another Pakistani all-rounder Sohail Tanvir would play for Victoria in the Big Bash tournament.
Afridi reckons that Pakistan had the bowling to upset Australia in the upcoming Test series.
"It can be done if we are mentally strong and can absorb the pressure of playing against a top team. But our bowling definitely has lot of depth and the ability to bowl out Australia twice in a Test," he said
Asked about playing in the third edition of the Indian Premier League, Afridi said it all depended on whether some franchise was interested in bidding for him in the auction.
"If some franchise wants me and bids for me I will be interested in the IPL but I don't want to sound as if I am running after playing in the IPL," he added.
