Donald: SA bowlers still lack punch

South African bowling attack lacks consistency to clinch the Test series against England, feels former pacer Allan Donald.

Donald told the Afrikaans daily Beeld that pacer Makhaya Ntini's hourglass was now almost empty and that he did not have much more to offer the side with his current performance.

"The biggest problem is actually that there are really not any bowlers who are trying to kick down the door to get into the national side," Donald said.

Ntini took only two wickets giving away 119 runs while playing in his 100th Test at Centurion.

Donald, however, held out some hope for Dale Steyn to change the fortunes of the hosts, who will try hard to get a lead in the second Test starting in Durban on Saturday after the first Test was undecided.

Steyn has been declared fit for the second Test after missing the first Test because of an injury.
