PCB decides to act tough
The PCB has instructed the Pakistan manager for the T20 series against England to send back any indisciplined player.
This was conveyed by designated manager Yawar Saeed to interim captain Shoaib Malik and the regular Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi when he met them on the sidelines of a inquiry committee hearing in Lahore on Friday.
"Yawar made it clear to both the senior players that the board had told him that they had had enough of players causing problems and violating the code of conduct," one source said.
He said Yawar told both players that the PCB had given him full authority to send back the first player who indulges in indiscipline on the tour.
Pakistan cricket has been rocked by reports of indiscipline by some players and groupings within the team on the recent tours to New Zealand and Australia.
Coach Intikhab Alam and former manager Abdul Raquib have endorsed this in their reports to the inquiry committee set up to probe the national team's whitewash in Australia.
To make matters worse, there is plenty of bad blood between Malik and the captain on both tours Muhammad Yousuf with both threatening to expose each other in public.
Yousuf has said there was one player who was disturbing the team's unity and speculation is rife that the player he was talking about is Malik.
