DRS, FTP post-2012 on ICC agenda

Efficacy of the DRS and the Future Tours Programme, including the venue for 2013 Champions Trophy will be high on ICC's agenda.

The Chief Executives' Committee (CEC) will receive an update on the successful implementation of the Decision Review System (DRS) in 13 Test matches in the last four months when the body convene in Dubai on Tuesday for the first of its four meetings in 2010, an ICC release said.

On March 10 and 11 the CEC will be joined by the representatives of the major cricket broadcasters, key staff within the full members and representatives of technology companies in a workshop.

The workshop will take into consideration different aspects of the DRS, ranging from specifications for the broadcasters and match-officials, cost implications and further development of the system, the release stated.

During the meeting, CEC will also consider the location, duration and scheduling of ICC events for the period post-2012 and in particular the location of the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.

Besides, the CEC will receive an update from the working group comprising ICC General Manager (Cricket) David Richardson, N Srinivasan (India), David Collier (England), Nishantha Rantaguna (Sri Lanka) and James Sutherland (Australia) on developing a context for international cricket, the release said.
