The furore over Sachin Tendulkar’s book having his blood mixed in the signature page has created a lot of speculation, and it has left the legendary player shocked.

Tendulkar, who was not aware of the uproar created by the claims of the publisher of Sachin Tendulkar Opus, denied all such reports on Friday.

"There is no truth in my blood being part of the book. It is basically a photographic publication and is not an autobiography or biography," he was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

Tendulkar, who has been busy with the Test series against Sri Lanka said: "I understand this information came out during the Test match (Galle). As I was focusing on the game, I only got to hear about it on Thursday. There is no truth in my blood being part of the book. The book is basically a photographic publication that celebrates my life and is not an autobiography or a biography."

Meanwhile, on Friday, Karl Fowler of Kraken Media – publisher of the book - told TOI that "the Opus will not carry any blood as mentioned in the several articles/TV reports that have appeared over the last few days. I believe that my thoughts on this have been misunderstood."

The Tendulkar Opus, which has been widely publicised, will be a photographic publication glorifying the cricketer’s career till date. The publishers claimed that it will weigh over 40 kg. A more affordable and smaller edition costing about Rs 12,000 will still weigh 14 kg.

"The proceeds from the book will go to charity. We will do more events that will benefit charities, but that will be decided once the book is completed," Tendulkar told TOI

Those who may not be able to afford the book, for their advantage, Tendulkar said, "The book will be available at different price points and in various new media formats which will be easily accessible and affordable for all. Free copies will also be given to libraries all over India."
