The Association for Cricket for the Blind in India (ACBI) contacted the BCCI to arrange for better training facilities for the team.

Chief coach P. Chandrashekhar claimed that this was the ACBI’s third attempt to put the facilities in place.

Speaking to IANS, he said: “We tried twice at the time when Jagmohan Dalmiya was the BCCI president but nothing happened. Now with a new president in Shashank Manohar, we hope that they will look into the matter soon.”

According to the coach, the team is being aided by Samarthanam, a Bangalore based NGO.

"The NGO is also funding the England tour. Due to lack of funds, we hardly get to play matches. We need BCCI help to go on foreign tours regularly, which will give us good exposure."

The blind cricket team is scheduled to leave on a 10-day tour of England where they will part-take in two 40-over and the same number of T20 matches.
