Tigers eye Sourav for batting coach
The Bangladesh Cricket Board is apparently keen on recruiting Sourav Ganguly as their national team’s batting coach.
After a substandard show in the recently concluded 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, Bangladesh Cricket Board is reportedly planning to approach the former India skipper Sourav Ganguly for the job of their national team’s batting coach.
According to the reports, BCB has confirmed its wish to hire Ganguly but is yet to make an official request to the Indian batting legend.
“We want Sourav's assistance. He is hugely respected here and his skills and tactical nous will greatly help our batsmen,” BCB chairman Mohammed Jalal Yunus told The Indian Express on Tuesday.
However, the BCB has earlier approached the southpaw for his services as their team’s batting coach before Bangladesh’s tour to England, but could not stuck to a deal.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board is considering few names as replacement for their former chief coach Jamie Siddons. It is also learnt that former India player and current Mumbai Indians coach Robin Singh is also in the fray for the job.
