Scorecard

- Australia have won seven and lost five out of twelve ODIs contested against India at the MCG.

- Australia's 65-run convincing win is their second largest over India at MCG - the biggest being the 88-run win on January 18, 1992.
 
- Australia have won 62 and lost 36 out of 106 contested against India (NR 8) - success % 63.26.
 
- India's 151 is their second lowest total against Australia at MCG - the lowest is 145 on January 18, 1992.
    
- Matthew Wade has recorded a fifty on his ODI debut. He is the first Australian to register the feat against India.
 
- Wade has got the Man of the Match award on debut - the 50th player to receive the same.
 
- Phil Jaques' 94 off 112 balls is a record by an Australian player on his ODI debut.
 
- Overall, ten batsmen have recorded fifty or more for Australia on debut in ODIs. Wade's 67 is the sixth highest by an Australian player on debut in ODIs.
 
- David Warner's dismissal is Vinay Kumar's first Australian wicket in two ODIs. He had failed to bag a single wicket in the Visakhapatnam ODI on October 20, 2010, his figures being 9-1-71-0.
 
- Vinay Kumar (7-0-21-3) has produced his best bowling figures away from home, obliterating the 2 for 51 against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo on May 28, 2010.
 
- Vinay's figures are his second best in ODIs, next only to the 4 for 30 against England in Delhi on October 17, 2011.
 
- Warner is averaging 16.00 in ODIs in Australia - 112 runs in seven matches, including a fifty.
 
- In his first eleven ODIs, Warner has averaged just 19.63 - 216 runs, including two fifties.
 
- Despite being dismissed cheaply, Ricky Ponting is averaging 56.97 at MCG - 2108 runs in 41 matches, including seven hundreds and 15 fifties. He is the top run-getter at this venue.
 
- Ponting's tally of seven hundreds at MCG is a record in ODIs. No other batsman has managed even three hundreds at MCG. Adam Gilchrist (Australia), Vivian Richards (WI) and David Gower (England) have recorded two centuries each at this venue.
 
- Michael Clarke is averaging 35.25 at MCG in ODIs (564 runs in 18 matches) as against his overall ODI average of 45.11.
 
- Praveen Kumar (7-0-35-0) has failed to take a wicket in three successive matches against Australia - one each at Guwahati (8.11.2009), Visakhapatnam (20.10.2010) and Melbourne 5.2.2012) - for the first time.
 
- Out of eleven ODIs played against Australia, Praveen could not capture a single wicket in seven games. His wicket-aggregate is 10 wickets at 46.40, including a four-wicket haul - 4 for 46 at Brisbane on March 4, 2008.
 
- David Hussey (61 not out off 30 balls) has posted his first fifty against India - his seventh in ODIs.
 
- In terms of strike rate, Hussey has played his second best innings (203.33) in ODIs, next only to the 52 off 21 balls (SR 247.61) against West Indies at Basseterre on July 6, 2008.
 
- David Hussey has completed his 1,000 runs in ODIs - 1001 at an average of 33.36 in 40 matches.
 
- Ravindra Jadeja's economy rate of 15.37 (2.4-0-41-0) is the worst by an Indian bowler against Australia (minimum two overs) in an ODI. The said economy rate is the second worst by an Indian bowler in an innings, next only to Sreesanth's 16.00 (3-0-48-0) against Sri Lanka at Canberra on February 12, 2008.
 
- Mitchell Starc (2/33) has recorded his best bowling figures against India in ODIs. The said performance is his second best in ODIs - the best being 4 for 27 against Sri Lanka at Brisbane on November 7, 2010.
 
- Ravindra Jadeja (2.4-0-41-0) has recorded an economy rate of 15.37 - the worst by an Indian bowler against Australia (minimum two overs) in an ODI. The said economy rate is the second worst by an Indian bowler in an innings in ODIs, next only to Sreesanth's 16.00 (3-0-48-0) against Sri Lanka at Canberra on February 12, 2008.
 
- McKay's ODI record is superb, claiming 34 wickets at 19.17 runs apiece in 16 matches.
 
- McKay is the first bowler to bag four wickets in an innings for Australia against India at MCG.

- Clint McKay (4/20) has produced his best bowling performance against India in ODIs - his second best ever, next only to the 5 for 33 against Sri Lanka at Brisbane on November 7, 2010.
