Lee unhappy with umpire referrals

Brett Lee is not a great fan of the umpire referral system, being experimented in the ongoing India and Sri Lanka Test series.

The fiery speedster, in New Delhi for a promotional event, said umpiring was best served the good old way , with limited help of technology.

Lee felt technology was diluting the role of the on-field umpires to only referring decisions.

"I like the human element involved in umpiring. Otherwise, why not stick a robot onto the ground?" Lee said on Monday.

"It (television referrals) is only good making run-out and stumping decisions, but when it comes to lbws, I prefer the on-field umpires to take a call. Most of the time they get it right," Lee pointed out.
