Warne: Victoria's envy, India's pride
Shane Warne will lead Rajasthan Royals against his state side of Victoria in September's T20 Champs League.
The stage is set for a spectacle as Shane Warne would be leading a young Indian side against a team where he honed his talent to become one of the finest exponents of leg spin bowling and a great leader.
The Champions T20 League will feature Warne taking up the reigns of his champion side which won the Indian Premier League - Rajasthan Royals - against his home side Victoria. Warne, who led the Royals to a magnificent tournament win in the first edition of the IPL in June, became tremendously popular in India due to his easy-going nature and awe-inspiring leadership.
But Unlike Warne, Aussie team member Michael Hussey who represents the Chennai Super Kings will not play for the IPL side against his state side - Western Australia. The left hander will remain with the Australian squad that will arrive in Hyderabad for its India tour on September 29.
Along with him Matthew Hayden, who also is a part of the Chennai team will also not feature in the tournament.
The top two Twenty20 sides from Australia (Western Australia and Victoria), India (Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings) and South Africa (Dolphins and Titans) will face-off in the eight-team competition. The remaining two teams are yet to be decided with ECB contemplating on the participation of Middlesex, the only English county to have been invited.
