Vettori wants collective decision

Captain Daniel Vettori has called on New Zealand to make a collective decision ahead of the Champions Trophy.

Vettori admitted he has security concerns about the visit to the troubled nation, which has suffered a spate of bomb attacks in the last nine months, but said it was unfair to ask some of the younger, emerging players in the Black Caps squad as their decision may affect their international future.

Vettori said: "It's all well and good me saying no, that I'm not going after playing for a long time, but it'd be unfair to put a Daniel Flynn or a Tim Southee in that position. I want to make sure it's a collective decision and not put in front of young guys because the young guys probably don't have the same options as the more experienced players."

He added: "I know (NZC) will put players' safety concerns first before they make a decision about turning up to the tournament."
