Canterbury put in the shade
Kent's Pro40 match against Leicestershire at Canterbury was abandoned after the ground's floodlights could not be turned on for safety reasons.
Strong winds made accessing the lights impossible and ensured there would be no result as the Duckworth/Lewis minimum of 10 second-innings overs had not been bowled.
Chasing 227, the visiting Foxes lost early wickets before the premature close.
Jacques du Toit (12), on twelve drove Azhar Mahmood to mid-on where Robert Key held a comfortable catch in the fourth over.
In the following over Boeta Dippenaar moved across his stumps attempting to pull Robbie Joseph and was judged lbw for one, to leave his side on 21 for two.
With the Foxes on 23 for two after six overs, the players came off for poor light at 8.06pm and almost an hour later the umpires announced the abandonment.
