PCB determined over Sri Lanka tour

The Pakistan Cricket Board will do everything possible to ensure the home series with Sri Lanka takes place next month.

Sri Lanka were set to travel to Pakistan for Test and one-day series after stepping into the void created by India's withdrawal due to security concerns following last month's terror attacks in Mumbai, but the tour is in doubt after Sri Lanka Cricket's interim committee, led by former Test captain Arjuna Ranatunga, was dissolved by the Sri Lankan government.

The PCB's chief operating officer Saleem Altaf told The News: "We are keeping every option open.

"(If the need arises), we will also explore the option of using diplomatic channels to ensure that the home series against Sri Lanka does take place."
