Former Indian cricketer Chetan Sharma has joined Bahujan Samaj Party and was declared party candidate from Faridabad Lok Sabha seat of Haryana.

Sharma declared here yesterday in presence of BSP National General Secretary Satish Chandra Mishra that he would contest coming Lok Sabha polls from Faridabad in Haryana.

Former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev congratulated Sharma for his decision of joining politics and contesting elections.

"I hope that Sharma would succeed in the politics as well," Dev said.
