Pak seek Champs Trophy decision

Pakistan are looking to finalise dates for the Champions Trophy at an executive committee meeting of the ICC.

The Champions Trophy was originally scheduled to be held in Pakistan from September 12-28 but was postponed by 13 months by the International Cricket Council (ICC) due to security concerns.

Pakistan still retain the rights to host the tournament, but the ICC would have to make room in a packed calendar during September or October next year.

India are scheduled to host Australia for seven one-day internationals in October under the Future Tours Programme (FTP), while the second edition of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament is scheduled to be held from September 25 to October 11 next year.

"The Champions Trophy is an ICC event and we are confident that (the ICC) will secure appropriate dates for the tournament," PCB chief operating officer Shafqat Naghmi said.

"We will push for a confirmation of dates at the executive committee meeting."
