PCB to submit Asif report in two weeks

Mohammad Asif will keep his fingers crossed till the PCB's fact finding committee submits its report on him in fifteen days.

''Until proven guilty Asif is innocent and it all depends on the fact finding committee's report which will be an authentic document to further deal with this case,'' PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf said.

''We will have to be a little patient and should avoid making speculations about this sensitive issue,'' he added.

Ashraf reiterated that the expenses incurred on Asif's case in Dubai will be recovered from the pacer if the committee finds him guilty.

''The governing body today unanimously decided that if Asif is found of having committed any wrong or used drugs in this case severe action would be taken against him and all such players. And all such expenses incurred on his case would be paid by Asif,'' Ashraf said.

Asif was held at the Dubai airport on June 1 while returning home from Mumbai after turning up for Delhi Daredevils in the inaugural Indian Premier League (IPL) and was charged with possessing a small amount of opium.

He returned to Pakistan on Friday after a 19-day detention at Dubai.
