Blues name squad for Big Bash

New South Wales Blues selectors have named an initial squad of sixteen for the KFC Big Bash in the coming weeks.

The bulk of the squad is made up of players that have represented NSW in both four-day and one-day cricket in recent weeks, but includes all-rounder Simon Keen and West Indian import Dwayne Smith.

Keen, who played in one Big Bash fixture against Victoria last season and was part of the NSW squad that won the Airtel Champions League in India in October, will add depth to the bowling ranks, while Dwayne Smith will add firepower to the middle order batting, as well as a bowling option with his medium pace.

The squad: Moises Henriques (Captain), Aaron Bird, Josh Hazlewood, Phillip Hughes, Phillip Jaques, Usman Khawaja, Simon Keen, Grant Lambert, Stephen O'Keefe, Ben Rohrer, Daniel Smith, Dwayne Smith, Steven Smith, Mitchell Starc, Dominic Thornely, David Warner.
