South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn is unavailable for the final npower Test against England.

The Proteas decided against trying to rush Steyn, 25, back for the match at the Brit Oval having already secured series victory.

He was due to have the cast supporting his fractured thumb removed on Monday in his bid to return but will now keep it on an extra week to guarantee his participation in the forthcoming one-day campaign between the sides.
