James Anderson's excellent bowling performance ensured England cannot lose the series now, producing his career-best bowling feat, obliterating the four for 23 against India at Southampton on August 21, 2007.
Thanks to his top-class bowling figures, England could register their first win over South Africa at St.George's, Port Elizabeth.

- Anderson is the fifth bowler to take five wickets in an innings or more at Port Elizabeth, joining Australa's Andy Bichel - 7 for 20 against England on March 2, 2003, Shane Bond (New Zealand) - 6 for 23 against Australia on March 11, 2003, Brett Lee (Australia) - 5 for 42 against New Zealand on March 11, 2003 and Rudi van Vuuren (Namibia) - 5 for 43 against England on February 19, 2003. - Anderson has received his fourth Man of the Match award in ODIs - his first in three years - two against Pakistan and one each against Netherlands and South Africa.
