Player Ratings: BAN vs SL

Here's a look at how the players from both the sides performed in the fourth match of the tri-series.

Bangladesh:

Tamim Iqbal – 4

After troubling the Indian attack on Thursday with his brilliant half-century, Tamim again gave the hosts a good start as he hit a couple of boundaries and a big six during his knock of 21 runs to set the momentum.

Imrul Kayes – 7
Kayes continued from where he left against India. After an impressive 70 against the sub-continent biggies, Kayes spelt early trouble for the Lankan bowlers as well. Unfortunately, he missed on his half-century by just eight runs.

Mohammad Ashraful – 4
Ashraful once again failed to live up to his repute of being one of best batsmen in the side. After hitting his 20th ODI half-century (75 runs) in the first match of the series, he could only manage 29 runs against India on Thursday and just 13 against Lanka on Friday.

Raquibul Hassan – 7
Raquibul seems to be getting better with every passing game. He started with a nought in the first match against Sri Lanka, moved on to 32 against India and then followed with a patient 43 on Friday.

Shakib Al Hasan – 7
The skipper finally contributed his share in his side’s campaign in the series. While he was not only failing with the bat so far, his bowling also was not fruitful enough to compensate. His steady 47 on Friday lifted some load off his head.

Mushfiqur Rahim – 6
The wicketkeeper is yet to come up with an awe-inspiring performance for his side. While his work behind the stumps has been satisfactory, he hasn’t been able to convert his knocks into big scores. He added 32 runs to his side’s score on Friday.

Mahmudullah – 6
He is indeed the most consistent performer for the hosts. The runs have been flowing regularly off his bat. He hit a quick 24 off the same number of balls at the end to lead his side to a decent score of 249/9.

Naeem Islam – 2
Another not-so-impressive day on filed for Islam. He hit a boundary in his short innings of five runs before losing his wicket to Kulasekara.

Abdur Razzak – 3
Razzak could not help his side much against Sri Lanka. Apart from failing to help with the bat, he could not do much with the ball as well. He wasn’t his economical self as well during the bowling.

Rubel Hossain – 2
Rubel had been providing Bangladesh with important breakthroughs in the earlier matches and helping his side come back into the matches. But on Friday, even he could not do anything against Jayawardena and Tharanga.

Syed Rasel – 3
Rasel, coming in the side in place of Shafiul Islam had a satisfactory outing. He remained unbeaten at seven runs and did not give away too many runs in the six overs he got to bowl.

Sri Lanka:

Upul Tharanga – 10

Tharanga had been giving Sri Lanka a good and steady opening so far. But on Friday, he chose to show his explosive side and hit an unbeaten 118 to secure the victory for his side and man-of-the-match award for himself.

Mahela Jayawardena – 10
There was nothing that Sri Lanka could do wrong when Tharanga and Jayawardena started hitting the ball all around the ground. Mahela didn’t let his side feel Dilshan’s absence as he registered 108 runs in his side’s winning cause.

Kumar Sangakkara – 5
The skipper did not get a chance to add to his brilliant batting form that he has shown in the series. He only had to keep Tharanga company at the other end to see his side through. Sangakkara was once again adept with his decisions on field.

Lahiru Thirimanne – 2
With Jayawardena and Tharanga having sealed the fate of the match, Thirimanne did not even get a chance to bat.

Thilan Samaraweera – 2
The centurion for Sri Lanka in the previous match against India did not have to come to the ground as there was hardly anything left to do.

Thilina Kandamby – 2
Kandamby might have to start worrying for his place in the side. While he missed on the earlier opportunities to impress, he could not even get a chance with either bat or ball on Friday.

Thissara Perera – 7
Perera continued with his good work with the ball. He accounted for two important wickets in Raquibul Hassan and Imrul Kayes to halt Bangladesh’s charge at the most opportune intervals.

Thilan Thushara – 4
Thushara got rid of Bangladesh’s skipper Shakib Al Hasan when he was on 47 and looked set to add much more runs to his side’s score.

Suraj Randiv – 7
The off-spinner again took important wickets for Sri Lanka. He dismissed opener Tamim Iqbal early and followed it by packing off middle-order batsman Mushfiqur Rahim.

Malinga Bandara – 4
Bandara kept the Bangladeshi batsmen from adding too many runs to their score. He gave off just 44 runs from his 10 overs.

Nuwan Kulasekara – 6
Kulasekara helped Sri Lanka pack off Bangladesh’s lower-order batsmen as he accounted for Naeem Islam and Rubel Hossain.
