India ready for title clash

India will have to guard against complacency as they take on Pakistan in the final of the tri-series tournament on Saturday.

India have been miles ahead of both their opponents in this tournament and have registered thumping wins en route to the title clash. They beat the arch-rivals by 140 runs that sent the Pakistan Cricket Establishment almost on a head-hunt with PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf demanding an explanation for the team's poor performance.

They then thrashed hosts Bangladesh by seven wickets in another one-sided contest.

India's confidence will be high especially with the opening pair of Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag in terrific form. The bowlers too have done a commendable job and as skipper MS Dhoni said he need not worry about anything as his players were performing their role to perfection.

In contrast, Pakistan will feel the heat especially with Ashraf flying down to witness the final.

Dhoni said he was "really happy about the team performance".

"We have played two matches and in both ties, we had good starts both in batting and bowling. I wish the same kind of performance continues in the final against Pakistan also."

However, the Indian captain is taking nothing for granted.

"Let's not think about the result but we should win the game as we have been doing so often. Every game is a fresh game and we need to carry on the momentum to some, even though you always start afresh. We have to repeat all the good work that we have done in the last two matches," he said.

"Of course we will be carrying our confidence but you have to start from the scratch again in the final. It is all about playing the game to your potential and to your strength. That is what is important rather thinking about beating the rivals," Dhoni added.
