Italian Serie A Team of the Week
The Serie A table tightened this week as Inter Milan, AC Milan, Roma and Napoli dropped points against unfancied opponents.
Despite four games being postponed midweek, there were plenty of goals and upsets for Serie A fans this week.
Inter Milan are back in a slump after losing to Lecce 1-0 over the weekend and was sent home with a 2-0 defeat at Lazio's Stadio Olimpico.
Luckily for Inter, the two teams chasing their coveted 5th spot in the table didn't do well either.\
Napoli were beaten by Genoa in a 3-2 thriller over the weekend and was then held by Cesena in a dour 0-0 draw midweek.
Roma spurned their chance to capitalise on the slips after being held to a 1-1 draw by Bologna and was defeated by Cagliari 4-2 midweek.
While AC Milan managed to beat Cagliari 3-0 over the weekend, they didn't do quite as well midweek, succumbing to Lazio with a 2-0 defeat.
We go with a 3-4-3 formation this week.

GK: Massimiliani Benassi (Lecce)
The masked man can claim credit for handing his side the 1-0 win over Inter Milan over the weekend with some superb goalkeeping. Benassi was peppered with crosses and headers to handle with throughout and came away with a rather amazing one-handed diving save to deny Giampaolo Pazzini's strike near the end of the game.
CB: Alessandro Nesta (AC Milan)
It's telling that Cagliari did not even manage a shot on target against AC Milan and the evergreen Nesta is the main reason for it. He marshaled his defence well and compensated for his reduced pace with astute positioning to deny his opponents space..
RCB: Steve von Bergen (Cesena)
The first of two Swiss defenders in this edition of the Team of the Week, von Bergen frustrated Napoli with his valiant defending in Cesena's 0-0 draw against Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo. Statistics tell the story - Napoli threw everything at them and had 70% of possession and yet had no goals to show for it.

LCB: Stephan Lichsteiner (Juventus)
The second Swiss in the team of the week, Lichsteiner is one of the best left backs in the world, no doubt about it. Deployed in a less familiar role due to the 3-5-2 formation but handled Udinese's attack easily enough to hand his side a 2-1 win.
DM: Mark van Bommel (AC Milan)
The biggest hype in the Italian transfer window was Cagliari's Radja Nainggolan but van Bommel made the Belgian look ordinary with a masterful performance in the midfield for AC Milan in their comfortable 3-0 win.
RCM: Arturo Vidal (Juventus)
The Chilean was exceptional in Juventus' 2-1 win over Udinese with his movement and vision in the midfield. A perfect foil for Andrea Pirlo's distribution skills, Vidal linked midfield to attack well in a tight encounter to tip the balance to his side.
CM: Ezequiel Schelotto (Atalanta)
The 22-year-old Argentine was the inspiration for his side yet again in their 1-0 win over Cesena over the weekend. Both sides looked like they were heading for a draw after some stout defending but Schelotto proved the difference in the 77th minute when his cross was deflected into the net by Marco Rossi, ending Atalanta's three-match losing streak.
LCM: Hernanes (Lazio)
The 26-year-old Brazilian was the spark with two goals which sparked his side to two vital wins for Lazio to capitalised on their rivals' slips this week.
Hernanes came away with an early goal against Chievo and took advantage with a cracking shot after being left to go on an unchecked run in midfield.
He was then the orchestrated his side's 2-0 win over AC Milan in the midfield and was rewarded for his efforts when his effort from far crept into the corner of Christian Abbiati's net.

SS: Rodrigo Palacio (Genoa)
It's surprising that no club has came in for Palacio over the transfer window, given that he is certainly one of the top second strikers in the world currently.
Palacio seem to have the penchant for the flair goal, scoring two wonderful strikes in Genoa's 3-2 win over Napoli.
The first goal was a 25-yard volley that left Napoli goalkeeper Morgan de Sanctis no chance and his second, his side's third, was a finely-placed one-touch finish into the side netting after Alberto Gilardino's pass.
ST: Fabrizio Miccoli (Palermo)
Two classy performances from Miccoli over the week saw him come away with a hat-trick of goals and another hat-trick of assists.
The 32-year-old produced two superb crosses for Igor Budan to score both goals as Palermo recorded an easy 2-0 win over Novara over the weekend. He then provided Andrea Mantovani with the opening goal in the 4-4 draw against Inter Milan with a corner kick and then displayed his versatility with his hat-trick.
His first goal was a heroic solo effort, his second a diving header to meet Federico Balzaretti's cross and his hat-trick was sealed by a wonderful left-footed strike.
ST: Diego Milito (Inter Milan)
Despite struggling against Lecce over the weekend, Milito turned in a world-class performance against Palermo with four goals in Inter's 4-4 draw against Palermo.
A typical predatory performance from the Argentine saw him fire home a hat-trick of fox-in-the-box goals and convert the penalty after Yuto Nagatomo was brought down in the box.
