Ghana announce training details
Ghana are set to hold a training camp in South Africa ahead of January's African Nations Cup in Angola.
The Black Stars, who were the first African nation to qualify for the World Cup, are currently looking at possible venues, but have taken particular interest in Nelspruit, a north-eastern city which will host four first-round games at next year's global showpiece.
"We are considering some venues in South Africa, and it will likely be Nelspruit in the Mpumalanga province," Kwesi Nyantakyi, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) president told www.cafonline.com.
"During the camp, we will engage in one or two friendly games to fine-tune our preparations."
The four-time African champions, who finished third as hosts in 2008, have been drawn alongside Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Togo in a tough-looking Group B in next year's tournament, which runs from the January 10 to 31.
Nyantakyi added: "It's a very difficult group and all the four teams are neighbours. I think it is the strongest group. Ghana and Ivory Coast are the best teams, but you can't underrate any team.
"In competitions like this, you underrate opponents at your own peril."
