Gerald Asamoah will consider his Schalke future if he does not feature regularly in the first team before Christmas.

Former Germany international Asamoah does not appear to fit into the plans of new Schalke boss Felix Magath and is willing to consider a move in the January transfer window if that situation does not change.

The 30-year-old told Bild newspaper: "I'm doing my best to return to full match fitness and convince the coach of my qualities.

"I feel like I still have a future at Schalke but I could leave the club in the winter if I don't get regular first-team football."
