Schalke bounced back from a surprise defeat to Freiburg last time out with a 2-1 win at Cologne.

Jefferson Farfan gave Felix Magath's men an early lead only for Germany international Lukas Podolski to level within four minutes.

Schalke grabbed the win which moved them up to third - three points behind leaders Hamburg - when Levan Kobiashvili scored a minute into the second half.

In Sunday's other game, between Werder Bremen and Hannover, finished goalless.

Hamburg beat Stuttgart 3-1 yesterday but the result of the day saw Bayern Munich win 5-1 at Borussia Dortmund.
