Hannover vs Dortmund Preview

Hannover's Andreas Bergmann has told his team they must stop feeling sorry for themselves and instead concentrate on winning.

The Reds have good reason to be depressed after the start to the season they have made with only one point from two home games.

And to make matters worse, they have an injury crisis which will rid Bergmann of practically a full team of players, but he knows moaning will not get him anywhere.

"Where do I get by complaining?" he asked.

"Of course this not-so-nice situation restricts us, but we have a game that we want to win with all our might.

"We want to think positive and transfer that into the game."

However, positive thinking is not easy when the likes of Robert Enke, Hanno Balitsch, Mario Eggimann, Leon Andreasen, Altin Lala, Mikael Forssell, Mike Hanke and Jan Schlaudraff are all spending more time in the treatment room these days than on the field.

All eight will miss Saturday's game at the Niedersachsen Arena, but Bergmann has laid down the gauntlet to their replacements to prove they are worthy of a place.

"We will just have to play with different players on the field," he said.

"If we play with great passion, then we can cover for these many setbacks."

Dortmund suffered a setback of their own last weekend, going down 5-1 at home to Bayern Munich to continue what has been a "below-par" start to the season, in the words of their coach Jurgen Klopp.

He took his team away for a two-day training break this week where the focus was placed on getting the basics right.

"I have the impression that these two days with a total of four training sessions have done us good," he said.

"We have got to start defending again in a way that stops us conceding and in then attack again in a way which gets us into a position to shoot at goal."

And goals can be expected tomorrow with not one of the previous 36 meetings between the two sides ending goalless.
