Eintracht Frankfurt vs Hamburg Preview

Eintracht Frankfurt coach Michael Skibbe has lauded the positive atmosphere at the club after his side's unbeaten start to the season.

Usually, the visit of the league leaders to the Wald Stadion would be a daunting prospect, but Skibbe insists his side cannot wait to get at Hamburg tomorrow.

"Of course the team is feeling excited," he said. "And it is doing us good, especially after the rather poor last season.

"We have created a great position to start with and we are really looking forward to the game against Hamburg."

Skibbe and his team watched Hamburg fall to an unexpected 3-0 defeat at Rapid Vienna in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday and that result has given them even more confidence.

"The 3-0 defeat at least gives us the impression that Hamburg can be beaten," added Skibbe.

"Hamburg certainly did not play as well as they can, but they can do better. It is going to be a big challenge for us."

Hamburg coach Bruno Labbadia hopes Thursday's defeat was just a one-off as he looks to extend his side's excellent start to the season.

But he expects Frankfurt to be as motivated as Vienna were to create an upset.

"We have been very happy with our Bundesliga games so far, but this is obviously making our opponents more focused when they face the league leaders.

"We have got to deal with this pressure."

Labbadia will be without the long-term injury absentees Paolo Guerrero, Collin Benjamin, Bastian Reinhardt and Marcell Jansen, but the rest of his squad is fully fit.

Skibbe is likely to name the same team which defeated Freiburg, which means the fit-again Caio will have to make do with a place on the bench.
