Monchengladbach 2-4 Hoffenheim

Hoffenheim stunned Borussia Monchengladbach with three goals in the final five minutes to complete an amazing turnaround.

Gladbach were looking comfortable after two goals in the space of eight minutes from Juan Arango and Roberto Colautti put them 2-0 up early in the first half.

The visitors got a goal back shortly afterwards from Sejad Salihovic but still looked like coming out on the losing side until dramatic late strikes from Maicosuel, Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke and Demba Ba turned the game on its head.

Gladbach had looked to be on course for a routine win in the early stages.

A mistake from Marvin Compper allowed Arango to win possession and his long-range shot had too much sting for Timo Hildebrand and whistled into the net after 10 minutes.

Hildebrand was at fault for the second seven minutes later when he fluffled what should have been a routine save from Raul Marcelo Bobadilla, allowing Colautti an easy finish from close range.

But Hoffenheim quickly got back into the game as Salihovic noticed Logan Bailly in a poor position from a free-kick and curled the ball into the top left-hand corner of the net.

The chances dried up but Marcel Meeuwis was unlucky to see a powerful goalbound shot deflected by Josip Simunic five minutes before the break.

It would prove costly as Hoffenheim looked much strong after the interval.

Bailly had to make a fine save to keep out Eduardo's shot in the 72nd minute, but there was still little sign of the fireworks to come.

They began in the 86th minute when Salihovic teed up Maicosuel for an easy close-range finish.

Moments later, Bailly failed to clear a corner and Eduardo flicked the ball back in for Ogbuke to head home.

Gladbach piled forward to try and get back into the game, but it proved costly as Ba hit them on the counter-attack, racing clear of the defence and then beating Bailly as he came out of his goal to challenge him.
