I will bounce back vows Gomez
Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez is frustrated at his lack of action, but insists he will not let the situation get him down.
The Germany striker has been substituted by coach Louis van Gaal in the last three games while he was only given a place on the bench for last week's Champions League opener against Maccabi Haifa.
And Gomez left the Allianz Arena after Wednesday's 5-0 win over Rot-Weiss Oberhausen in the DFB-Pokal with a forlorn look on his face.
"I think anybody who understands a bit about football can understand my situation," he said.
"If you play in the first games and score, and you are still then removed, then you obviously start to ask yourself why.
"I need full self-confidence for my game."
Gomez was signed from Stuttgart for 30million euros in the summer, but he is one of five strikers fighting for just two places in the Bayern attack alongside Miroslav Klose, Luca Toni, Thomas Muller and Ivica Olic.
"The coach is spoilt for choice and that is a great situation for the coach," Gomez added.
"There is a lot of quality in the squad and you can see that in training too. But I will bounce back."
