Hamburg vs Bayern Munich Preview

Bayern Munich will again be without Luca Toni for their top-of-the-table clash with Hamburg at the HSV-Arena.

Coach Louis van Gaal has left the Italy international out of his first-team squad and told him to play with the reserves for the second week running to try to regain match-fitness after a long injury absence.

Toni made his first appearance of the season in the midweek 5-0 win over Rot-Weiss Oberhausen, but has no qualms about dropping a few levels again this weekend.

"If the coach says that I should play with them (the reserves), then I will play with them," he told the Bild newspaper. "It's not a problem."

Former Hamburg striker Ivica Olic will again lead the Bayern attack with Arjen Robben likely to return on the wing after being rested in midweek.

Olic is one of many players to have represented both clubs, but he insists there will be little time for nostalgia on Saturday.

"I still have a lot of friends there and speak regularly on the phone with Frank Rost, Joris Mathijsen, David Jarolim and Mladen Petric," he said.

"But I am not 20 or 21 any more - this is a game like any other for me.

"We want to win three points there."

Ze Roberto made the move in the opposite direction this summer and he is looking forward to seeing his former team-mates once again.

"It is going to be a special moment," he told Bild. "I spent six beautiful years with Bayern and this is the first time I play against them."

Hamburg currently lead Bayern by three points at the top of the Bundesliga after six games, although Van Gaal's side have won their last three to get their season back on track after making their worst start to a season in over four decades.
