Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic has been ruled out for six weeks after sustaining a calf injury on international duty.

The Croatian damaged the muscle in training on Friday and has been ruled out of the key World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan on Wednesday night.

Croatia are a point behind second-placed Ukraine in Group Six with the team which finishes runners-up to England qualifying for the play-offs.

Olic's absence is also a huge blow to Bayern with coach Louis van Gaal currently without star wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.
