Manchester City could use the funds generated by Robinho's sale to Barcelona to buy Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery.

As reports mount of increased Barcelona interest in Robinho, Man City are planning to get his replacement.

As a result, Man City have shortlisted Ribery as their prime target and will only sell Robinho if they can sign the French winger.

Ribery has been linked with a move to several different clubs in recent months and it has been reported that he has a deal with Real Madrid to go there in the summer, which if true, makes things difficult for City.
