Bayern want Sosa to stay put

Bayern Munich have confirmed that midfield Jose Ernesto Sosa will spend the rest of the season on loan at Estudiantes.

The 24-year-old has returned to his former club with immediate effect after failing to make the breakthrough into the Bayern first team under four different coaches, but he will return again next summer to give it another try in the Bundesliga and see out the final 12 months of his contract with the Bavarians.

"I cannot complain, my team-mates have always handled me fairly," he said on the Bayern website.

"I have simply not used the chances that I have been given."

Sosa arrived in Munich from Estudiantes in July 2007, but has made only 22 starts under Ottmar Hitzfeld, Jurgen Klinsmann, Jupp Heynckes and, now, Louis van Gaal.

His failure to make the grade in the first 10 games of the current season has confirmed to him that the best chance of gaining match practice is by returning to the club who launched his career.

"I am being realistic," he added.
