Gladbach vs Stuttgart Preview

Stuttgart coach Markus Babbel is expected to give his team a shake-up for the Bundesliga match at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Stuttgart drew 1-1 at Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday but only after the coach had let rip at his players at half-time.

Babbel's half-time substitutions did the trick with Sebastian Rudy and Stefano Celozzi inspiring Stuttgart to a draw and both can expect to play a more integral part in the team tomorrow as Babbel gets ruthless.

"Sebastian is certainly a candidate for the starting XI," admitted Babbel. "He is a huge talent and an extraordinary footballer."

Babbel's job is reportedly up for discussion, something of which he is acutely aware, if the German press are to be believed.

Several journalists, who were situated near the away dressing room at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, overheard Babbel's half-time team talk in which he told his players what he thought of them in no uncertain terms.

"We are absolutely scared stiff," he was reported to have said with his team 1-0 down.

"But the only person here who has to have any fear is me. It is my job which is on the line.

"But I can tell you, I am not going to stick up for the team which I saw in the first half. That was catastrophic."

Serdar Tasci has picked up a foot injury which rules him out until the end of the calendar year and will also force him to withdraw from the squad announced today by Germany coach Joachim Low for two upcoming friendly matches.

Gladbach will be buoyed by their unexpected 3-2 win over league leaders Hamburg last weekend and their coach Michael Frontzeck is unlikely to make any changes to the side which tasted success for the first time in seven attempts.
