Borussia M'gladbach 5-3 Hannover

Ten-man Hannover scored three own goals as Borussia Moenchengladbach won an eight-goal thriller littered with mistakes.

Karim Haggui twice found his own net and Constant Djakpa also turned into his own goal, while Rob Friend and Michael Bradley were on target for Monchengladbach, who have lost just once in their last six games.

Hannover's Didier Ya Konen scored twice in reply but was then sent off for two bookable offences and Christian Schulz also scored.

Hannover fell behind after 15 minutes after a mistake by goalkeeper Florian Fromlowitz, who rushed out to clear a ball at the edge of the area but struck it against his own defender Haggui and it bounced back into his own goal.

Gladbach nearly doubled the lead five minutes later but Friend's shot hit the crossbar.

Friend succeeded in finding the net after 22 minutes, heading in Tobias Levels' cross from the right.

Arnold Jan Bruggink hammered his 20-yard shot against the post seven minutes later for Hannover.

And Bradley also hit the woodwork after 35 minutes with a lob from a tight angle.

Hannover finally pulled a goal back a minute later with Ya Konen hitting home from five yards after confusion in the box in front of Gladbach goalkeeper Logan Bailly.

Hannover scored another own goal in the 59th minute as Djakpa tried to pass back to his goalkeeper but his mis-placed pass ended up in his own net.

Bradley made it 4-1 nine minutes later as his free kick from 18 yards went through the Hannover wall.

Hannover trimmed the deficit to 4-1 just a minute later with Ya Konen fended off two defenders before beating Bailly.

But Hannover's hopes of a comeback were hit when the goalscorer was shown a red card with six minutes left for his second yellow card within 13 minutes.

The visitors refused to give up and Schulz rushed forward to poke home.

As Hannover sought an equaliser, however, Gladbach pounced, scoring again with a second own goal by Haggui.
