Valencia striker Nikola Zigic is reportedly being watched closely by Bundesliga side Schalke.

According to German newspaper TZ, Schalke are looking to replace Kevin Kuranyi who has been heavily linked with a move to England.

The Gelsenkirchen side see target-man Zigic as the perfect replacement for the German striker.

Zigic has been on the fringes of the Valencia first-team and the arrival of Alejandro ‘Chori' Dominguez from Rubin will push the Serbian further down the pecking order.

Reports suggest that Valencia have slapped a €8 million price tag on Zigic.
