Foundation set up in Enke's memory

The widow of Robert Enke will chair a foundation dedicated to the investigation and treatment of depression.

Former Germany and Hannover goalkeeper Enke committed suicide aged 32 in November after battling the illness.

His widow Teresa revealed after the tragedy he feared what the reaction would be if the fact he suffered from depression became public knowledge.

The German FA (DFB), the League Association and Hannover will set up the Robert Enke foundation.

DFB president Dr Theo Zwanziger said: "In her (Teresa Enke) we have found a strong, dedicated women, whom we assure our full support for the next steps of the foundation."
