Germany unmoved by Hildebrand
Germany's management remain unmoved by Timo Hildebrand's outbursts after the Valencia goalkeeper was left out of Joachim Low's Euro 2008 squad.
The 29-year-old was omitted in favour of Jens Lehmann, Robert Enke and uncapped Rene Adler despite having been part of every Germany selection since the last World Cup, a move which prompted Hildebrand to accuse Low of disrespect.
But general manager Oliver Bierhoff insisted the comments were not an issue, saying: "You can partly understand his disappointment and anger, but we will not be commenting on it. It is not an issue for us. It happens before every major tournament that players who do not make the squad say such things."
Low was equally dismissive of the reports over the weekend, telling the Bild newspaper: "The issue of Hildebrand has been dealt with as far as we are concerned.
"I don't want to talk about him any more, I just want to talk about the players who are here."
Low must trim his 26-man squad to 23 by Wednesday, with Tuesday's friendly against Belarus a potential make-or-break game for Germany's fringe players.
Piotr Trochowski, Oliver Neuville, Marko Marin, Patrick Helmes and Tim Borowski are regarded as candidates for the chop with the latter particularly at risk as flu has prevented him from taking part in training for the last three days.
