Ribery eyeing European "home" final

Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery is relishing the opportunity to play in the final of this season’s Champions League at the Allianz Arena.

The Bavarian giants emerged unscathed from the much feared "Group of Death" in Group A of the first-round stages, leading the pack ahead of Napoli, Manchester City and Villarreal.

With this season's showpiece final set to be played at Bayern's intimidating home ground, Ribery is hoping to bask in European glory on their own turf.

"Reaching the Champions League is one of my biggest targets, and it would also be a dream come true," Ribery was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

"I hope we can do it, but it's incredibly difficult. As a first step, we have to win our next fixture against Basel, and then let's see what happens."

The menacing French winger also conceded that the chase for the Bundesliga title will go right down to the wire.

"Four teams are in it at the moment. I think it'll remain very tough. We have to focus on ourselves and win as many games as possible. I think our toughest rivals are Dortmund and Schalke," he concluded.

Bayern are sitting at the summit of the Bundesliga standings and will face off with Hamburg at the Imtech Arena on Saturday.

Bayern currently sits at the summit of the German top flight on goal difference, and is preparing for Saturday's Bundesliga match against Hamburg at the Imtech Arena.
