Diarra can't wait to play Reds
Lassana Diarra is hoping to face Liverpool when Real Madrid resume their Champions League campaign next month.
Real Madrid will host Liverpool in the first leg of the last 16 in February. The former Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth midfielder made his debut at the Santiago Bernabeu last weekend and helped his team claim a massive 1-0 victory over Villarreal.
The Frenchman is delighted to have impressed head coach Juande Ramos and is hopeful his performance will help him be included in his club’s Champions League squad.
Los Merengues have to decide whether they add Klaas-Jan Huntelaar or Diarra to their list, and the former Premier League star would be thrilled to be the one.
Diarra told Le 10 Sport: “It’s up to the club to make a decision; they will announce it within a couple of weeks. They already have an idea of what they are going to do.
“I will accept the club’s decision. Anyway I signed for fix years, not for six months. But of course I want to play Champions League football and I’m going to do everything to be there against Liverpool.”
