Hiddink: Bosingwa to mark Messi

Guss Hiddink will turn to Jose Bosingwa to combat the threat of Barcelona's playmaker Lionel Messi in the Champions League.

Chelsea will be taking on Barcelona at Camp Nou in the first leg on 28 April in the first leg of the semi-finals.

But Ashley Cole, the best candidate to mark Messi, is suspended for the first leg.

There were other options which Hiddink could have used considered other options to replace the suspended Cole but Michael Mancienne, Juliano Belletti and Branislav Ivanovic were deemed not suitable.

Hiddink has told reporters that Boswinga could practise for the Champions League game by starting in the weekend's clash against West Ham at left back.

The Chelsea manager also said that marking Messi will be a 'tremendous job' and it is common for right-footed players to play on the left side of defence. "Ruud Krol did it for Holland in the 1974 World Cup final," he explained his logic.
