Marquez fit for Barca duty

Mexico defender Rafael Marquez could give Barcelona a defensive boost against Dynamo Kyiv after declaring himself fit.

Marquez has been out for four months with a knee injury which he picked up in the Champions League semi-final against Chelsea last season.

The Mexican made his comeback after he came on as a substitute in last weekend's game against Atletico Madrid. The defender feels although he is fit, he lacks match-fitness.

"I still need some time on the pitch to get back to the right level and get into the rhythm of competition," he told fcbarcelona.com.

Barcelona will be facing Dynamo Kyiv a team which Marquez is very wary of.

"They will be very difficult, they put a lot of pressure on their opponents. They are top of their league ahead of Shakhtar and are also top of the Champions League group at the moment. We will have to play like we have done until now if we want to get the three points".

Marquez has also revealed that Barca coach Josep Guardiola has already briefed the defenders what they'll have to do.

"What we can't afford to do is relax in any way and we must always focus hard on the way we are defending. We mustn't do anything that makes it easy for our opponents," he added.
