Veh upbeat over stage chances

Wolfsburg coach Armin Veh feels his side are in a strong position to reach the Champions League knockout stage.

This was after their impressive 3-0 win against Besiktas in Turkey.

Zvjezdan Misimovic put the visitors ahead after 14 minutes before late goals from Christian Gentner and Edin Dzeko sealed a convincing win.

The Wolves lie second in Group B, three points ahead of CSKA Moscow, and can book their place in the next round with victory in the Russian capital in three weeks time.

"We played a really good game, stood up well in defence and linked up well up front," Veh said in Kicker magazine.

"Above all the first half was excellent, we could have even been further ahead.

"In the end, we created a good starting position for ourselves to reach the last 16."

Wolfsburg face group leaders Manchester United at home in their final game.
